“We need a Pit Crew at station 1!” This phrase is often heard from across the salon and it means we swoop in to help turn over our fellow stylists station to help them stay on schedule and prepare for their next guest. We sweep, clean up dirty laundry, put away products and lay out a new cape and towel. Similar to a NASCAR Pit Crew we do this in record time to keep the day and appointments running smooth and on time.
Showing our care and respect for each other shows up in many ways, and being a “blow dry buddy” has become one of our most treasured. Two team members working together cuts drying time in half helping the team member stay on schedule, making the current guest feel like a celebrity and the next guest waiting feel like their time is valued and we are doing our best to stay on time.
